The paleo diet program has shown to have been very successful based on the paleo burn reviews that are available to read on line. This diet is one that closely follows the diet of our ancestors, It is known as the paleo or paleolithic or the hunter gatherer diet. All of these terms follow the same principles and can be grouped under one roof. With so many diet plans out there it is certainly difficult to know whether this is one that you should choose to follow.
Is this a good diet?
Clearly today in western societies a large number of people are obese and that figure is set to continue to rise.Human beings struggle to control their eating and keep their weight at a healthy level. Perhaps weight issues are to do the amount of food choices there are and that are widely available. The paelo diet eliminates the foods that cause the weight gain to occur and takes you back to eating natural foods and eliminating the processed foods. Our ancestors would have eaten much less saturated fat and would have taken a diet of fresh meats and seafood’s and uncultivated vegetables and fruits. The diet omits dairy foods, refined products containing sugar/glucose and the processed foods. Honey is included in the list of items to eat as this is a natural sort of sugar and not processed. This diet is a recommended one because it reduces the amount of carbohydrates and the heavily processed foods that are often eaten. It places the emphasis on you eating the foods that are low in glucose that keep your blood sugar levels fairly stable at all times.
Keeping blood sugars from having random spikes, after a heavily sugar laden meal prevents the risk of developing type 2 diabetes and storing visceral fat. On this diet the caveman would have been unlikely to have suffered chronic diseases such as heart disease and stroke. Is the problem with the ordinary everyday diet the problem with the added additives and preservatives that did not exist in paleolithic times? Today our fruits and vegetables may be the same apple or pear as caveman times but may well have been genetically modified. Meat can be filled with water or starch and sugar and salt often added. The paleo diet puts forward an effective standard for eating the foods that are not altered and are as natural as they can be.
The paleo burn diet plan is a modern day diet that aims to mimic as closely as possible the ones of the hunter gatherers of pre -agriculture time. The diet consists of the foods that can be hunted for such as meat and seafood’s.Grains and beans and legumes which are a good source of fibre are strangely excluded from the diet because it is believed that these food groups would rarely have been consumed by humans in the caveman age. On the paelo diet followers you are allowed to drink water and sometimes tea is also included as healthy drinks. Foods may be cooked and do not have to be eaten in the raw state although some paleo dieters feel that food should be eaten in a raw a state as is safe to do so. Most of the food energy from the diet is derived mostly from animal foods with secondly the rest from plant foods.
The diet is therefore rich in protein and low in the carbohydrates. The fat intake of the diet is the same or higher than in the western diet. The fat that is consumed is moderate levels of saturated fats and higher levels of the monounsaturated fats. Eating meat from cows that are fed a grass based diet has amounts of omega-3 fatty acids and the minimum amount of Trans fats.
Advocates of the paleo diet say that modern humans are well adapted to eating this sort of diet. The diet represents the diet a human body would have eaten. Whilst our ancestors would not have lived for as many years, it is said that they were largely free of disease that affect our current society. It has been shown through stories where people adopt a westernised diet that their health begins to decline. It clearly makes sense to follow a diet that suited our ancestors and kept them relatively disease free.Whilst no diet can be perfect if you personalise a diet such as the paleo diet to suit your lifestyle then you can work out whether it works for you. All diets will have faults and advantages over others and it comes down to whether it works well for you.
